How this works

The pipeline transcribes podcasts and videos from named MMA tipsters using OpenAI Whisper, then extracts each named pick as structured data using Claude.
Picks are graded against closing fight odds, not the line at pick time. Closing-line value — whether a pick beat the market's final consensus — is tracked separately from raw accuracy, because hitting 60% on heavy favorites is worth less than hitting 50% on contested fights.
CLV is the standard academic proxy that actually predicts long-run skill. Currently covering 12 named tipsters across 47 UFC events.
